Creative director & writer based in Nova Scotia. In my spare time, I like to run, read, swim and travel. 

What

I am writer based in Tantallon, Nova Scotia, on the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq. My fiction has appeared in Pioneertown, The Oddville Press and The Southampton Review. I've published poetry in The Awl, Lungfull! and Abe's Penny. I sometimes publish poems on a tumblr called No More Tangles. I blog about music on a newsletter called Morning Person. I self-published a book of short stories called Cover Story in 2011. It was funded by a Kickstarter campaign. It's available in paperback and as an e-book here.

I am also a freelance marketing and advertising creative, most recently at Shortstop and Believeco, and before that, at Peloton in New York City, where I was the copy director and creative lead on exciting projects including two product films and a pair of fun holiday TV spots. Before that, I was a creative director at VaynerMedia, where I worked on social, digital and print campaigns for brands like Quaker, Lay’s, Mountain Dew and Dove. Prior to that, I was a copywriter at MSL Group and before that, 360i.

My background is in culture writing and editing, with a focus on music and books. I've published essays, criticism, profiles, interviews and humor pieces for a variety of clients, including NPR, Pitchfork, The Economist, Rolling Stone, The San Francisco Chronicle and Paper Magazine. I've also been a music editor at AOL and was the founding writer at the women’s site The Hairpin.
